PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a treatment method by which Sn and rare metals (particularly In) can be leached and recovered at high recovery rate by using, as a raw material to be leached, a leach residue etc. generated by the reduction and pressure leaching, by the use of SO2, of a zinc leach residue from the zinc hydrometallurgical process.
SOLUTION : In the treatment method for the zinc leach residue and the like, leaching treatment is carried out under the condition of a temperature of ≥60°C by using, as the raw material to be leached, the leach residue etc. generated by the reduction and pressure leaching, by the use of SO2, of the zinc leach residue from the zinc hydrometallurgical process and also using, as an original leaching solution, any of the followings : a mixed solution of sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid; a mixed solution prepared by mixing a chloride salt with sulfuric acid; and a mixed solution prepared by mixing a chloride salt with sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid.
