PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide chalcogenide glass which is excellent in heat resistance and anticrystallization property, can melt rare earths, and has excellent light stability.
SOLUTION : The chalcogenide glass is RS-Ga2S3-GeS2 system glass (wherein, R is an alkaline earth metal), which is obtained by adding 1-40 mol% GeS2 to an RS-Ga2S3 system in which the molar ratio of RS to Ga2S3 is ≥1. The sulfide glass, characterized in that the glass transition temperature expressing heat resistance is ≥500°C, the difference between the crystallization start temperature and the glass transition temperature, expressing the anticrystallization property is ≥150°C, rare earths can be melted, and the light stability is excellent can be obtained.
