PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth boroaluminate fluorophor emitting green color on being efficiently excited by ultraviolet radiation, and to provide a light-emitting device equipped therewith.
SOLUTION : The rare earth boroaluminate fluorophor comprises, as fundamental constituent elements, gadolinium and/or lutetium, at least one element selected from scandium, yttrium, lanthanum, praseodymium, neodymium, samarium, europium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium and ytterbium, terbium, aluminum, boron and oxygen. In this fluorophor, the ratio of the total number of moles of aluminum plus boron to that of the rare earth elements is 0.1-1.5 and the ratio of the number of moles of boron to the total number of moles of aluminum plus boron is 0.0001-0.3. The light-emitting device equipped with this fluorophor is also provided.
