PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a bulk oxide superconductor high in critical current density and small in the dispersion of superconducting characteristic within a material by devising the texture of the material, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION : In an RE-Ba-Cu-O-based superconducting oxide material in which particles of RE2BaCuO5 phase or RE4-2zBa2+2zCu2-zO10-d phase, (0≤z≤0.1, -0.5≤d≤0.5) are dispersed in RE1+xBa2-xCu3Oy crystal (0≤x≤0.1, 6.5≤y≤7.2, and RE is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Y, La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, and Yb); a region (A) containing comparatively large particles of the RE2BaCuO5 phase or the RE4-2zBa2+2zCu2-zO10-d phase, and a region (B) containing very fine particles of the RE2BaCuO5 phase or the RE4-2zBa2+2zCu2-zO10-d phase coexist.
