The present invention is to provide a fluorescent substance having composition of rare-earth aluminium and gallate with high light emission intensity, and a light emitting device using the same. The fluorescent substance having composition of rare-earth aluminium and gallate comprises : at least one kind of rare earth element Ln selected from a group composed of Y, Gd, La, Lu, Sc, and Sm; at least one kind of group 13 elements selected between Al and Ga; Tb; Ce; and Eu.
