PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for chamfering a rare earth alloy for enabling uniform chamfering in a short time by suppressing occurrence of chipping when chamfering a small rare earth alloy workpiece by using a rotary barrel method. SOLUTION : This method is characterized by inclining a center shaft of a rotary barrel container 1 by a prescribed angle in relation to a rotary shaft and rotating the barrel container 1 in a state of maintaining the inclined angle, in a method for polishing the rare earth alloy workpiece by feeding the workpiece, media and a liquid medium into the rotary barrel container 1 and rotating the barrel container 1.
