A high-strength, high-toughness cast magnesium alloy and the method thereof, in which the alloy consists substantially of aluminum 3-9 wt%, zinc 3.5-9 wt%, manganese 0.15-1.0 wt%, antimony 0.01-2wt%, and the balance magnesium.
