PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dispersion-strengthened rare earths stabilized zirconia coating composition which exhibits preferable mechanical properties. SOLUTION : A coating film of low heat conductivity utilizing a dispersion strengthening mechanism is provided. The coating film contains at least two kinds of powder. The first powder contains at least one rare earth oxide such as gadolinium oxide, yttrium oxide and zirconium oxide. The second powder is selected from a group consisting of yttria-stabilized zirconia, ceria-stabilized zirconia, alumina, chromia-alumina, rare earth stabilized zirconia, and mixture thereof. When the second powder is mixed with the first powder, the rigidity of the coat film is increased. The crack lifetime and the corrosion resistance are improved thereby. In addition, by mixing the first and second powder with the third powder such as polyester, the heat conductivity of the coating film is considerably degraded. After the preparation, the prepared powder is deposited on a base body by using plasma thermal spraying. As articles having the coating film, components for a combustor, a high-pressure turbine vane, and blades or the like are included. COPYRIGHT : (C)2006, JPO&NCIPI
