PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide spherical particles for thermal spraying which have satisfactory fracture strength and free from the disintegration even in flame (plasma) at the time of thermal spraying. SOLUTION : In the method for producing spherical particles for thermal spraying, granulated powder obtained by granulating a rare earth element (inclusive of yttrium)-containing oxide with a Fischer size of ≤0.6 μm is baked at 1, 200 to 1, 800°C.
