PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a virus inactivating method for inactivating SARS (serious acute respiratory syndrome) virus, by using an air cleaner filter capable of preventing re-scattering of SARS virus having activity from the filter and surely inactivating SARS virus and preventing infection therewith. SOLUTION : By carrying SARS virus inactivating component like catechins and a hygroscopic agent, a thin water molecule film is formed on a surface by absorbed moisture, and the water-soluble SARS virus inactivating agent like catechins is dissolved. When SARS virus is trapped on the film, contact property of the SARS virus inactivating agent with trapped SARS virus is enhanced and penetration is promoted via moisture and water molecules.
