PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth-transition metal-nitrogen base magnet powder capable of suppressing the compositional deviation of rare earth elements at a reduction-diffusing time and having excellent magnetic characteristics, and to provide its production method and a bond magnet to be obtained therefrom. SOLUTION : A raw mixture containing the rare earth oxide powder, the transition metal powder containing iron and a reducing agent for reducing the rare earth oxide is charged into a reaction vessel for reduction-diffusion, and is heated and fired under non-oxidizing atmosphere to obtain the rare earth-transition metal series base alloy, then is nitrided, thereby producing the rare earth-transition metal-nitrogen base magnet powder reduced in the variation of the rare earth metal elements. When the raw mixture is charged into the reaction vessel, (a) the rare earth metals, (b) the mixture of the rare earth metal oxide powder and the reducing agent or (c) raw material for adjustment selected from the rare earth metal oxide powder having the content of the rare earth metal more by 1-30 atom% than that of the raw material mixture and the mixture of transition metal powder and reducing agent are charged in advance into the bottom part of the reaction vessel, and then, the raw mixture is charged thereon.
