PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To solve the problems caused by overheat at the time of welding a lead wire to a cylindrical electrode, concurrently with a problem of surface oxidation at the time of sealing the electrode into a glass tube.
SOLUTION : The cold cathode fluorescent lamp 1 comprises a glass tube 2 in which at least a rare gas is filled in the inside space 5 sealed airtightly by bead glass 3 and a phosphor layer is formed on the inner wall face 4, cylindrical electrodes 7 arranged in the inside space 5, and lead wires 9 of which one end is jointed to the bottom face 8 of the cylindrical electrode 7 and the other end is drawn out to the outside of the glass tube 2 penetrating the bead glass 3. The cylindrical electrode 7 has a first metal layer constituting the inner face, a second metal layer constituting the outer face, and an sintered metal layer provided between the first metal layer and the second metal layer, and the first metal layer and the second metal layer are formed by a metal which has a lower melting point than the sintered metal forming the sintered metal layer and is easily reduced.
