PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an adsorbent (1) capable of effectively removing a trace amount of fluoride ions, arsenate ions or arsenious acid ions which are dissloved in water, more specifically, to provide (2) an easy handling and (3) a low-cost adsorbent capable of maintaining high adsorption performance for a long time and being used in repeated fashion. SOLUTION : This adsorbent is an ion-exchanger composed of a metallic hydrous oxide and the metallic hydrous oxide is at least one hydrous oxide of a metal selected from Zr, Ti and a rare-earth and the ion-exchanger is enclosed with a porous macromolecule membrane.
