PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a solid electrolyte fuel cell with excellent durability against heat cycle and with sufficient power generating performance, and also to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION : The solid electrolyte fuel cell is provided with a fuel electrode substrate 1 (consisting of a mixture of nickel oxide, stabilized zirconia, or the like), a solid electrolyte layer 2 (consisting of stabilized zirconia or the like), a reaction prevention layer 3 (consisting of CeO2 group oxide or the like with a part of Ce of the CeO2 substituted with rare-earth metal element), a mixture layer 4, and an air electrode layer 5. The mixture layer 4 contains a reaction prevention layer forming material included in the reaction prevention layer 3 and an air electrode layer forming material included in the air electrode layer 5, with a peripheral edge of the mixture layer 3 covered with the air electrode layer 5.
