PURPOSE : A rainwater treatment system is provided that is capable of perfectly removing foreign materials and contaminants contained in rainwater such that rain water is safely used as water for various purposes. CONSTITUTION : A rainwater treatment system comprises : a balancing tank(1) for primarily storing rainwater after removing relatively large adulterations, earth and sand and floating materials from collected rainwater; a microfilter(31) for removing fine turbidity components by primarily filtering rainwater pumped from the balancing tank; an activated carbon filter(33) for secondly filtering the rainwater such that the activated carbon filter removes organic matter, residual chlorine, foul smell and taste and adsorbing suspended dust, nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides using adsorptive power of activated carbon; a storage tank(5) for secondly storing the filtered rainwater; an advanced oxidation unit(7) for circulating the treated rainwater into the storage tank again after sterilizing, disinfecting, deodorizing and decoloring rainwater pumped from the storage tank and decomposing organic matter of the rainwater; and a sending unit(9) comprising an underwater pump(41) and a sending pipe(43) installed in the storage tank to send treated rainwater as domestic water, landscape water, industrial water, reservoir water in ecological parks, and fire fighting water. © KIPO 2006
