PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a composite perovskite-based varistor which is excellent in electric characteristics and a function of which is not damaged even when the varistor is subjected to high-temperature soldering. SOLUTION : This varistor is made of a composite perovskite-based semiconductor porcelain containing a component selected from among a first component composed of the oxides of Sr, Ba, Ca, and Ti, a second component composed at least of one kind of oxide selected from among the oxides of rare earths (Y and lanthanoids), and a third component composed at least of one kind of oxide selected from among the oxides of metals (Nb and Ta) and a fourth component composed of Si oxide.
