PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a new method of manufacturing rare-earth borates.
SOLUTION : This is a method of manufacturing a rare-earth borate LnBO3 containing an element A, provided that Ln shows at least one kind of rare-earth element selected from the group consisting of Y, La, Gd, and Lu; and A shows at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Ti, Zr, Hf, Nb, Ta, Mn, Al, Ga, In, Tl, Si, Ge, Sn, and Bi; and including a process (1) in which a rare-earth compound, a compound of the element (A), a boron compound, and an amide compound are mixed and dissolved in an aqueous solvent to prepare an aqueous solution of a raw material mixture, and a process (2) for hydrothermally treating the aqueous solution of the raw material mixture.
