PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an ornamenting material which is obtained in the morphology capable of processing to an accessory or the like and which displays a luminescence or color development of a respectively different color hue under a visible light, an ultraviolet ray or an infrared ray. SOLUTION : The ornamenting material uses a single crystal having a composition expressed by chemical formula : RAlO3, wherein R is a rare earth element of at least one kind selected from Sc, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, and Lu.
