PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare-earth magnet having a sufficiently excellent corrosion resistance, and to provide a method of manufacturing the magnet.SOLUTION : The rare-earth magnet 100 includes an elemental magnet body 10 containing a rare-earth element and a protective layer 20 provided on the surface of the elemental magnet body 10 and containing boron and phosphor. Since the denseness of a film is high in the protective layer 20 containing the boron and phosphor, the occurrence of cracks etc., is reduced and the barrier property is high. Therefore, the deterioration of the elemental magnet body 10 can be prevented sufficiently. Consequently, the rare-earth magnet 100 has the sufficiently excellent corrosion resistance.COPYRIGHT : (C)2006, JPO&NCIPI
