PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To manufacture a rare earth sintered magnet excellent in magnetic properties with good yield by developing a technique capable of improving the strength of a molded form without deteriorating the magnetic properties.
SOLUTION : When manufacturing the rare earth sintered magnet by sintering a molded form obtained by molding stock alloy fine powder containing R(R is one kind or two kind or more of rare earth elements), T(T is transition metal elements of one kind or two kinds or more taking Fe or Fe, Co as essential), and B; metal plating is applied to at least a part of the stock alloy fine powder. The metal plating is any of Cu plating, Ni plating, or Ag plating. Upon molding of the molded form a mixture of the stock alloy fine powder subjected to the metal plating and the stock alloy fine powder not subjected to the metal plating is molded. When the total sum of the weights of the stock alloy fine powder subjected to the metal plating and the stock alloy fine powder not subjected to the metal plating in the molded form is assumed to be 100, a ratio of the stock alloy fine powder subjected to the metal plating is less than 25.
