PURPOSE : Provided is a green fluorescent substance for a plasma display panel which is excellent in color purity and afterglow effect and is improved in the surface potential of a green fluorescent substance layer without the deterioration of lifetime. CONSTITUTION : The green fluorescent substance comprises 10-80 wt% of Zn2SiO4 : Mn or (Zn, A)2SiO4 : Mn (wherein A is an alkaline earth metal); 10-80 wt% of (Ba, Sr, Mg)O· Al2O3 : Mn or LaMgAl11O19 : Tb, Mn; and 10-80 wt% of ReBO3 : Tb (wherein Rb is at least one rare earth metal selected from Sc, Y, La, Ce and Gd).
