Polyurethane luminous composition for coating tire sidewalls

PURPOSE : A polyurethane light emitting composition for coating the sidewall of a tire is provided to give the aesthetic appreciation and variety to the appearance of a tire without the deterioration of the intrinsic performance of a tire. CONSTITUTION : The polyurethane light emitting composition contains 0.1-50 parts by weight of a luminous or fluorescent pigment based on 100 parts by weight of polyurethane and is prepared from a polyol having an aliphatic or semi-aromatic main chain having an elongation at break of 100 % or more. Preferably the luminous pigment is a ZnS-based or AlSr-based pigment and its surface is coated with a dye, Cu or a rare earth metal such as Eu, etc.; and the fluorescent pigment is a monoazo-based, diazo-based, phthalocyanine-based or quinacridine-based organic pigment or an inorganic pigment comprising an inorganic metal oxide. © KIPO 2006
