PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a solid golf ball with an improved flying performance without damaging durability and a ball hitting feeling. SOLUTION : The solid golf ball is composed of at least one layer of a core and at least one layer of a cover coated and formed on the core. The core is composed of a rubber composition containing base material rubber, a co-cross-linking agent, organic peroxide and an organosulfur compound, the base material rubber contains polybutadiene synthesized by using a rare earth element based catalyst, and the organosulfur compound contains a polysulfide compound having a bromo group.
