PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a waste treatment method capable of improving the volume reduction of waste by adequately separating and removing the soil adhering to the waste. SOLUTION : The waste including plastics or rubbers hoisted from underneath an earth cover at a final processing place is stirred with quicklime, an earth release agent, added, and is cured for some time. Then, the cured waste is loaded by a loading apparatus into a classifier, and the waste is classified according to its sizes into at least three types. After sorting/separating the waste of at least one type out of those classified wastes according to its specific gravity by a pneumatic sorting apparatus, the waste which is an object of the volume reduction among those classified/sorted and separated as a volume reduction object is subjected to the volume reduction processing.
