PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a new light-emitting composite material exhibiting luminescence when external force is applied and having excellent visibility also when external force is not applied. SOLUTION : The light-emitting composite material is prepared by combining a stress-induced light-emitting material and a light storage material with other material such as a resin. The stress-induced light-emitting material, e.g. SrAl2O4 : Eu, La is obtained by adding a rare earth element to an oxide of an alkaline earth metal and aluminum as a matrix. The light storage material is e.g. CaAl2O4 : Eu, Nd. The resin is preferably an epoxy resin or a silicone resin.
