PURPOSE : To provide a method for manufacturing solid fuels using low polluting high efficiency waste plastics that are capable of reducing secondary pollution generating factors by reducing generation of soot and smoke or noxious gases and improve utilization and economic efficiency as the fuels by improving homogenization and molding characteristics and the calorific value. CONSTITUTION : A method for manufacturing solid fuels using waste plastics comprises the steps of : washing waste plastics except vinyl chloride or PVC series plastics as a raw material, cutting the washed plastic raw material to a proper size, drying the cut waste plastic raw material, and pretreating the dried waste plastic raw material; obtaining a mixture by mixing 90 to 95 wt.% of the pretreated waste plastic raw material with calcium hydroxide or calcium oxide as a sulfur oxide(SOx) removal catalytic agent, porous zeolite as a nitrogen oxide(NOx) adsorption removal agent and activated clay(acid earth) as a combination adsorbent and binder in a ratio of 3 : 4 : 3; adding 5 to 10 wt.% of the mixture to a pyrolysis reactor having 450 to 500 deg.C of a temperature such that the mixture is mixed in the reactor; and extrusion-molding the mixture in a rod shaped material having a predetermined length from a molding machine. © KIPO 2006
