Disclosed is a phosphor with excellent heat resistance which can be uniformly dispersed in a plastic material and exhibits a high fluorescence intensity even after it is heated at high temperatures during the molding process of the plastic product. More specifically disclosed is a phosphor which contains a rare earth complex having a basic skeleton of a benzophenone or benzoyl substituted with an alkyl group, cycloalkyl group, acyl group or alkoxy group having 1-20 carbon atoms wherein one or more kinds of molecules having a photosensitizing function are coordinated to a plurality of rare earth ions.
