PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for continuously casting steel by which the clogging of an immersion nozzle can be prevented by reducing inclusion thickness of alumina etc., stuck on the inner surface of the immersion nozzle.
SOLUTION : When an aluminum-killed steel or an aluminum-silicon killed steel is continuously cast, the continuous casting is performed while restraining the thickness of stuck material on the inner surface of the immersion nozzle without blowing inert gas into the immersion nozzle 3, by adding REM (rare earth metal elements) into a molten steel ladle 1, a tundish 2 or at the previous process from the above. Then, the adding quantity of the REM is desirable to be 0.1×T.O≤REM≤50-1.2×T.O(ppm). Further, it is desirable to perform the continuous casting while restraining the thickness of the stuck material on the inner surface of the immersion nozzle to ≤15% of the inner diameter of the nozzle.
