PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an electric compressor securing a uniform air gap by preventing a shift in fixing positions of stators of an electric motor even if a shock caused by drop etc. occurs, and having high shock resistance. SOLUTION : In this electric compressor, the stators 120 have stator cores 125 comprising a laminated steel plate and winding parts 124, and a rotor 115 has a rare-earth permanent magnet 114 stored in a rotor core 116. The rotor 115 is fixed to a shaft 104 forming a compression mechanism part 102, and the stators 120 are fixed to a block 110 pivotally supporting the shaft 104 by means of fixing bolts via elastic washers. Accordingly, if the stator cores 125 are contracted due to a shock of drop, fastening force by the fixing bolts and reaction force of the elastic washers are applied to maintain firm fixation of the stators 120, and the shift in the fixing positions of the stators 120 can be prevented.
