Silicone varnish composition for glass sleeve coating

PURPOSE : Provided is a silicone varnish composition for coating a glass fiber braided tube which is excellent in self-extinguishing property, electrical insulation and flexibility, has a rapid curing velocity and can be cured at a low temperature. CONSTITUTION : The silicone varnish composition comprises 4-7 wt% of an organopolysiloxane resin as a silicone resin; 65-75 wt% of a mixture of vinyl polysiloxane and hydrogen polysiloxane as a silicone oil; and 5-20 wt% of calcium carbonate, 3-10 wt% of hydrophobic fumed silica, 1-5 wt% of a rare earth metal oxide and 0.5-10 wt% of a platinum catalyst as a common additive containing an inorganic metal compound. Preferably the organopolysiloxane resin is represented by the formula 1, has a molar ratio of Q unit and M unit of 1 : 0.5-1.3 and a number average molecular weight of 1, 000-10, 000. Preferably the platinum catalyst is Pt{P(C6H5)3}2(C2H4), or a mixture of Pt{P(C6H5)3}2(C2H4) and at least one selected from Pt{P(OC6H5)3}4, Pt{P(C6H5)3}4, Pt{P(CH3)3}4, Pt{P(C4H9)3}4, Pt{P(OCH3)3}4, Pt{P(OC6H5)3}4, Pt{P(C6H5)3}3, Pt{P(C6H5)3}2(C2H4), Pt{P(OC6H5)(OC2H5)2}4, Pt{P(C6H5)2(OC2H5)}4 and Pt{P(CH3)2(OC4H9)}4. © KIPO 2006
