PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a hard magnetic composition with which a ThMn12 phase can be easily formed even if Nd is used as a rare earth element, particularly, to provide a hard magnetic composition with a single phase structure of a ThMn12 phase, i.e., of a hard magnetic phase even if Nd is 100%. SOLUTION : The hard magnetic composition is represented by the general formula : R(Fe100-y-wCowMoy)xSizAv (R is one or more kinds selected from rare earth elements, and ≥50 mol% thereof is Nd; and A is one or two kinds of N and C); regarding the molar ratio in the general formula, x=10 to 12.6; y=(8.3-1.7×z) to 12; z =0.4 to 2.3; v=0.1 to 3; and w=0 to 30; and further, (the molar ratio of Fe+the molar ratio of Co+the molar ratio of Mo+the molar ratio of Si)/(the molar ratio of R)>12 is satisfied.
