The invention relates to a metal protective coating which protects against corrosion and oxidation, in particular for components (110, 120, 130) in turbines (100), said components being used at high temperatures. The advantageous composition is as follows : 11.5 20.0 wt % chrome, 0.3 1.5 wt % silicon, 0.0 1.0 wt % aluminium, 0, 0 - 0, 7 wt % yttrium and/or at least one metal from the group comprising Sc and rare earth elements, and the remainder being iron and production-related impurities.
