PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an optical fiber module which accommodates rare-earth-doped optical fibers in a winding state, is compact, has low power dissipation, and has a temperature adjusting function; a method of manufacturing optical-fiber coils suitable for the same; and an optical-fiber amplifier furnished with the optical-fiber module.
SOLUTION : The optical-fiber module 1 comprises one or more optical-fiber coils 3 in each of which a rare-earth-doped optical fiber of an arbitrary length is wound in a circular shape or an oval shape, one or more annular heating members 4 giving positive heat quantity, and a sensor 5 for temperature measurement for measuring the temperature of the heated optical-fiber coils, wherein the heat-generating faces of the annular heating members are of the same as the cross-sectional shape of the optical-fiber coils or of a similar shape as the same with areal-ratio deviation of ±5 % or less, while the optical-fiber coils and the annular heating members constitute a laminated body 2.
