GREEN PHOSPHOR FOR PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PURPOSE : Provided are a green phosphor for a plasma display panel (PDP) which comprises a fluorescent substance having a low surface potential coated with La2O3 and SiO2, and a PDP containing the phosphor which is excellent in lifetime characteristic and discharge stability. CONSTITUTION : The green phosphor comprises at least one fluorescent substance selected from the group consisting of Zn2SiO4 : Mn, (Zn, A)2SiO4 : Mn (wherein A is an alkaline earth metal), (Ba, Sr, Mg)O·αAl2O3 : Mn (wherein α is an integer of 1-23), MgAl_xO_y : Mn (wherein x is an integer of 1-10 and y is an integer of 1-30), LaMgAl_xO_y : Tb (wherein x is an integer of 1-14 and y is an integer of 8-47), and ReBO3 : Tb (wherein Re is at least one rare earth element selected from the group consisting of Sc, Y, La, Ce and Gd); and a coating oxide which is coated on the surface of the fluorescent substance and comprises 2, 500 ppm or less of La2O3 and 600 ppm or less of SiO2. © KIPO 2006
