PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a light, small-sized, and portable xenon discharge lamp lighting device, capable of continuously lighting a small-sized xenon discharge lamp, without or with rare occurrence of flickers even when continuously lighted. SOLUTION : The voltage input from a dry cell is boosted to the level of 300V, rectified by a diode, and stored in a capacitor for discharge. A trigger transformer is driven by synchronizing with the timing generated at a timer. By the above, a high voltage pulse is generated at a trigger terminal, and the gas in the discharge lamp is turned into a plasma, and the charge stored in the capacitor for discharge is discharged at one stretch, and the lamp emits light. The light emission is characterized by the continuous lighting.
