PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a hydrogen grinding apparatus for a rare-earth magnet material sufficiently reduced in the concentration of oxygen with high productivity. SOLUTION : This hydrogen grinding apparatus for the rare-earth magnet material 10 is composed of a hydrogen occluding chamber 21, a dehydrogenation chamber 31, a cooling chamber 41 and a recovery chamber 51 all of which are connected to each other and constituted so that the respective chambers are evacuated independently to permit the introduction of an argon gas independently, the coarse ground matter of the rare-earth magnet material housed in a feed container 70 comprising a plurality of box-shaped cylindrical containers 71 is fed in the hydrogen occluding chamber 21 to occlude hydrogen, the rare-earth magnet material having occluded hydrogen is dehydrogenated in the dehydrogenation chamber 31 to be ground in the presence of hydrogen, the ground rare-earth magnet material reaches the recovery chamber 51 through the cooling chamber 41 to be discharged into the recovery chamber 51 from the feed container 71 to be recovered in the recovery chamber 91 connected to the recovery chamber 51, and the feed container 70 is fed out of the recovery chamber 51. The rare-earth magnetic material is prevented from being brought into contact with the atmosphere during this grinding process.
