PURPOSE : Provided are an alkali earth aluminate-silicate luminescent material which has prolonged luminescence and is activated by rare earth elements, and a method for preparation thereof. CONSTITUTION : The alkali earth aluminate-silicate luminescent material comprises a construct of MO·aAl2O3bSiO2cL : fX, wherein MO is at least one acidic material of SrO, CaO, MgO and BaO, L is an inorganic mineral, X is a rare earth element activating group, and a, b, c and f represent a denaturable element selected from Al2O3, SiO2, an inorganic mineral L and an activating group X, a molar ratio related to MO has a molar ratio of MO=1 and the requirement; 0.3<=(a+b)<=3, b=(0.01-2)a, c=0.02-0.5, f=0.001-0.05 is satisfied. Particularly, the inorganic mineral L comprises a halogen alkali and/or halogen ammonium salt and/or a phosphorous ammonium. © KIPO 2006
