PURPOSE : To provide a water purification structure for environmental protection, wherein contaminants are partially removed by plants planted in an artificial plant island, and inhabitation and growing conditions for microorganism propagation are prepared to treat most of water polluting objects. CONSTITUTION : A water purification structure for environmental protection comprises water purification blocks(10), wherein the water purification blocks comprise : a vegetation stand(11) at both sides of which clamping holes are formed, to an upper part of which a Geogrid net is attached, and in a lower part of which water purification plant seeds and nutritious bended soil are filled in a through hole formed rotary support(111); a Geogrid bag(12) in which a hollow part is formed such that a sand bag(122) is inserted into the hollow part, and at both sides of the front of which clamping rings are formed; a clamping member(13) rotatably inserted into the clamping holes of the vegetation stand and the clamping rings of the Geogrid bag; a plurality sheets of Korean traditional paper(14) which are packed in the state that the vegetation stand and the Geogrid bag connected by the clamping member and gravel, earth and sand are embedded in the Korean traditional paper; and a Korean traditional paper band(15) for solidly binding the packed Korean traditional paper, wherein a plurality of the water purification blocks installed on an inclination plane at the side of a river or lake. © KIPO 2006
