PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide phosphate glass which is suppressed from reduction of light transmittance in the wavelength region of 300-500 nm even when it is irradiated with light having a wavelength within the range of 300-500 nm; and to provide phosphate glass which is suppressed from reduction of light transmittance in the wavelength region of 300-500 nm even when it is irradiated with light having a wavelength within the range of 350-400 nm. SOLUTION : The reduction of the light transmittance in the wavelength region of 350-500 nm is suppressed by incorporating at least one kind of rare earth element into the phosphate glass. Further, the reduction of the light transmittance in the wavelength region of 350-400 nm is suppressed by incorporating vanadium into the phosphate glass.
