SOLUTION : The alloy for the permanent magnet is an R-Fe-M-B (R : a rare earth element) alloy, wherein R includes at least Nd and Pr so that the atom ratio of Nd to Pr can be in a range between 1 to 2.0 and 1 to 3.3; and M is at least one element selected among Nb, Cu, Al, Cr, Ti, V, Mn, Ni, Zn, Zr and Hf.
