METHOD FOR SUPPRESSING CANCER CELL WITH LED AND RARE SUGAR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method extending to both of the fields of medical science and engineering wherein cancer cells are suppressed using an LED (light emitting diode) and a rare sugar. SOLUTION : The method for suppressing the proliferation of the cancer cells by irradiating the cancer cells with a blue or green LED in existence of the rare sugar is described. The rare sugar is preferably D-allose. After making the rare sugar act on the cancer cells, the cancer cells are irradiated with the LED. The cancer cells are liver cancer cells (HepG2 cells). The cancer cells are irradiated with the blue or green LED. The cancer cells which are liver cancer cells (HepG2 cells) are nearly entirely extinguished by irradiating them with the green LED.
