PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an inexpensive heat resistant magnesium alloy for casting which has excellent heat resistance and castability. SOLUTION : The inexpensive heat resistant magnesium alloy for casting having excellent heat resistance and castability has a composition containing, by weight, 6 to 12% aluminum, 0.05 to 4% calcium, 0.5 to 4% rare earth elements, 0.05 to 0.50% manganese and 0.1 to 14% tin, and the balance magnesium with impurities.
