PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a cap for a hermetic seal in which a heat-resistant temperature of a brazing material is raised by raising the Ag concentration of an Sn-Ag brazing material, and, on the other hand, coarsening of an intermetallic compound phase which causes an airtight failure is suppressed, and which has rare occurrence of airtight failure without using an expensive Au or Pb having an environmental influence.
SOLUTION : The cap for the hermetic seal includes a metal plate 6 having an alloy brazing material 5 which contains 6.5-30 mass% of Ag, 0.01-5 mass% of Te, a residue of Sn and unavoidable impurities and connected to one side surface. Further, it is preferable to contain 0.005-0.5 mass% of P, and 0.01-1.0 mass% of one type or more of Sb, Cu, Fe and Ni. Furthermore, the alloy brazing material is desirable to be window frame-like.
