PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To obtain an automotive coating film polishing agent which enables several types of polishing from medium size particles to ultrafine particles by one kind of the polishing agent in a short time and enables performing degreasing/cleaning by the use of a detergent after washing with water, and mark removal and luster restoring operation on a coated surface therewith.SOLUTION : This automotive coating film polishing agent is composed of water and a water soluble organic solvent dispersion mixture which contains three components of polishing particles, a silicone polymer protective film-forming agent, and a cleaning/dispersing agent . The polishing fine particles are a mixture of hard polishing fine particles composed of one kind or a mixture of two or more kinds of rare earth oxides and rare earth fluorides with luster improving polishing fine particles containing one kind or a mixture of two or more kinds of an aluminum oxide and a silicon oxide; the silicon polymer protective film-forming agent is one kind or a mixture of two or more kinds of crosslinked silicone polymers; and the cleaning/dispersing agent is a mixture of a dispersion solvent, an emulsifier, and a thickening agent.
