PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an artificial stratum comprising a plurality of layers, where all the material constituting the respective layers is recycled one so as to contribute to reduction in the burden on the environment. SOLUTION : The artificial stratum 3 is constructed to cultivate plants on the artificial ground, and obtained by laminating an aquifer layer 4 comprising glass foam made of waste glass, a filter layer 5 comprising regenerated fiber of waste paper or waste cloth, and a soil layer 6 comprising earth dug out of a construction site. Material constituting each layer is recycled one.
