PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To suppress the worsening of a performance of an electrochemical reaction single cell and the delamination of an active layer of an air electrode from another layer.
SOLUTION : An electrochemical reaction single cell comprises : an electrolyte layer including a solid oxide; and an air electrode and a fuel electrode which are opposed to each other through the electrolyte layer in a first direction. The air electrode has an active layer containing oxide of a perovskite type and rare earth-doped ceria. The active layer is arranged so that some cracks are present in at least one broken section formed when a stress is applied thereto from one side in a first direction, provided that each crack is a region between a pair of border lines identical in shape to each other, and there is a particular region where of the cracks, particular cracks of which the size in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction and in parallel with the broken section is longer than that in the first direction account for less than 50% on a crack-number basis.
