PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a corrosion resistant rare earth based permanent magnet in which the formation of white rust is suppressed while utilizing the sacrificial protection action of potentially base zinc, and to provide its producing process. SOLUTION : In the corrosion resistant rare earth based permanent magnet, a resin coating dispersed with fine zinc particles is formed on the surface a rare earth based permanent magnet, and a resin coating dispersed with fine aluminum particles is formed on the surface thereof. The process for producing a corrosion resistant rare earth based permanent magnet comprises a step for forming a resin coating dispersed with fine zinc particles on the surface a rare earth based permanent magnet, and a step for forming a resin coating dispersed with fine aluminum particles on the surface thereof.
