PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a composition for resin bonded magnet comprising magnetic powder and thermosetting resin binder, and to provide a resin bonded magnet obtained by forming the composition which has industrially excellent working life and exhibit excellent magnetic properties and mechanical strength. SOLUTION : The composition for resin bonded magnet comprises in its constituent elements the magnetic powder (A) containing rare earths and transition metal elements, and the resin binder (B). The magnetic powder (A) whose surface has been treated by inorganic phosphorous compounds is covered with paraffinic hydrocarbon. The resin binder (B) having a thermosetting resin as a main component comprises N-oxyl compounds (C).
