PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for efficiently separating and recovering high-purity platinum-group elements from a solution containing platinum metals. SOLUTION : In the method for recovering high-purity platinum group metals, RuO4 is recovered from the solution containing platinum metals by distillation and Pd, Pt, and Ir are successively recovered by solvent extraction and then Rh is recovered e.g. by crystallization using ammonium chloride. In this method, alkaline-earths and heavy metals are removed by solvent extraction and then Pd, Pt, and Ir are successively recovered by solvent extraction. Subsequently, the solution is neutralized and filtrated to recover neutralized sediment of Rh, and the neutralized sediment is redissolved.
