Recovery comprises extraction of gallium from alkali solutions with N-(2-hydroxy-5-nonylbenzyl)-β, β-dihydroxyethylamine solution in n-octanol followed by separation of gallium and aluminum in the re-extraction stage using various-concentration (2 to 3 M) HCl solutions.
